When I first heard that Disney was making one of my favorite childhood films into a live-action adventure I about lost it! Jon Favreau brought his directing brilliance to the film and you will not be disappointed. “The Jungle Book” is based on Rudyard Kipling’s timeless stories and inspired by Disney’s classic animated film, “The Jungle Book.”

“The Jungle Book” is an all-new live-action epic adventure about Mowgli (newcomer Neel Sethi), a man-cub raised in the jungle by a family of wolves, who embarks on a captivating journey of self-discovery when he’s forced to abandon the only home he’s ever known.”

• Idris Elba is the voice of the fearsome tiger, Shere Khan
• Ben Kingsley voices panther-turned-stern mentor Bagheera
• Bill Murray voices the free-spirited bear, Baloo
• Scarlett Johansson is the seductive voice of the python, Kaa
• Christopher Walken is the smooth-talking King Louie
The all-star cast also includes Lupita Nyong’o as the voice of the fiercely protective mother wolf, Raksha, and Giancarlo Esposito as the voice of wolf pack’s alpha male, Akela.

Remember how I said I was a tad bit excited about the movie? I know I already live in a Disney house, but I also love to Disney-it-UP a little more with my decor…so here’s my “The Jungle Book” themed mantle on our family room. Don’t worry, this isn’t our front room (AKA the replica one with the Paradise Falls and Carl & Ellie chairs).
