Frequently Asked Questions:

Our Family Home

We have some guidelines & expectations to keep our family safe and keep the magic going.
      • Our Private Home: Because this is our real family home, we can only offer a limited number of reservations. Thank you for respecting our privacy!
      • Love Our Neighbors: Please help us be good neighbors by not loitering outside and making sure all trash is disposed of properly.
      • Photo Supervision: A member of our family will be there to supervise during all photoshoots.
      • By Appointment Only: To protect our family’s schedule, we cannot accept walk-ins.
      • Respecting the Magic: We want everyone to have fun! However, unsafe or inappropriate behavior means the shoot will end immediately without a refund, and Guests will be asked to leave.
      • Inquiry vs. Booking: Sending in a request form is the first step, but it does not guarantee a booking until we confirm it together.
      • Our Real Life: A lot of love goes into cleaning, staging, and hosting each session. This place is truly magical, but it is also our real-life family home.
      • Future Shoots: We love hosting, but we reserve the right to stop offering these experiences if the property or our family is treated disrespectfully.

UP HOUSE HISTORY:

How long have you lived in the UP House?

We moved in the beginning of January 2012; although the process of buying our home began in October of 2011

Are you the only owners of the UP House?

Yes, we are the first and only owners. It is a Disney-authorized replica of the house from the Disney-Pixar movie, UP. We purchased directly from the builder, Bangerter Homes. Blair Bangerter is a fantastic craftsman and builder – we highly recommend him

RESERVATION POLICIES:

Can we stop by and take pictures of the UP House?

We kindly ask that you reserve all extended visits (longer than 5 mins) and photoshoots in advance. This helps us respect our home, family, and neighborhood. Please stay outside our fence line and do not block the flow of traffic at any time. Please mind where you park. Do not block driveways or mailboxes, and do not park in no-parking zones.

Do I need a reservation?

Yes. This is our family home, so every visit affects our family’s home life—whether you book a full photoshoot or just stop by for a few quick photos.

Need more time? Book two photo opportunities back-to-back! You will get 60 minutes on our property to snap all the photos your heart desires.

How far in advance do I need to book?

We encourage advance booking (about 2 weeks) because we have limited availability. I also need time to clean and prepare for all photoshoots. Please check the current reservation dates on the Photoshoot Pricing Page

Is a deposit required?

Yes, we require a 50% deposit, which we call a Booking Fee.

This 50% Booking Fee is non-refundable, and you cannot transfer the date.

You must pay the remaining balance by 8 AM MT the day before your session.

What is your policy if I’m late to my reservation?

Late arrivals reduce your session time. (For example: If you arrive 5 minutes late, your session will last 25 minutes instead of 30 minutes).

GUEST RULES:

Is there a maximum Guest count for a reservation?

You can bring up to 6 guests, including your photographer.

Am I able to bring my children?

Yes, of course! However, you must supervise them at all times.

Are pets allowed?

Guests may bring pets only if we approve them beforehand, and only for the outdoor portion of your shoot.

Can we film inside your property?

You must get prior approval to film. Filming requires its own separate contract and fee.

Meta AI Glasses or other AI filming glasses are not allowed.

Can we bring food and drinks?

We do not allow food or drinks indoors. For outdoor sessions, you must get prior authorization for any food or beverages.

Do you allow shoes inside?

We do not wear shoes inside our home. Please take your shoes off or wear shoe covers indoors.

Can we move the furniture or decor?

No.

Are drones allowed?

No drones – it feels invasive and weird. Thank you for respecting this!

Is smoking allowed?

We do not allow smoking or vaping anywhere on the property.

If you book an indoor session, please ensure your clothes are free of smoke odor. We have a child and a cat with asthma.

Can we bring balloons?

Balloons are allowed and are so fun for your photoshoot! Just allow yourself setup time if you are self-inflating them.

Please do not tie balloons to our property.

Do not release balloons into the air, as we care for the environment. Let us know if you need us to dispose of them properly.

Are Gender Reveals allowed?

Yes, but you must get pre-approval and share all the details with us first. We will not approve anything that litters the environment. Please be upfront and reasonable about your plans. Remember, this is our home! 🙂

When does you holiday decor go up?

We typically decorate on the same schedule as Disney Parks. We decorate heavily for Halloween and the holidays. There may be decorations up for other holidays, too. Access to the front lawn may be limited during this time. Seasonal decor varies, and we will not remove it for photoshoots. You cannot rearrange or tamper with our decor.

Can we recreate scenes from UP during our photoshoot?

Yes, you can pose for your pictures just like the movie

I suggest Disneybounding in the UP characters and adding on the ‘Optional Guided Photo Assistance Add-On’ for your photoshoot; I can help make sure you get all the magical shots from the movie

PERSONAL USE VS. COMMERCIAL/ BRAND/ MEDIA USE:

Can I post or share my photoshoot photos online?

Yes! We book all photoshoots for personal use only. As long as you share them for personal use and not for a brand or commercial business, you are good to go.

What if I want to promote my business OR a brand using your UP House?

You must get prior approval for any brand or commercial use. Please contact us with all the details. If we want to include our home in your project, we will send you our pricing. Brand and commercial use requires a separate agreement and fee.

EXPERIENCE EXPECTATIONS:

Where do I get to go during an Indoor photoshoot?

Your indoor access includes only the front room, the area just inside the front door, and the first four steps of the staircase. The indoor portion of The Adventure Book Experience takes up the first half of your session. Once that time ends, you will not re-enter our home. You will spend the rest of your session time out front. Please do not sit on the television or the side tables.

Will you leave us alone during the shoot?

No, a family member will supervise all photoshoots. Therefore, we do not allow free-roaming through the house during your indoor session. Additionally, the outdoor portion only includes the porch and front yard—we do not include the back half of the driveway or the backyard.

Other helpful info:

We will charge a replacement fee if a guest damages or breaks anything during a photoshoot. Please be mindful and supervise your children!

NEIGHBORHOOD RESPECT:

We have lovely neighbors and appreciate every one of them

  • First, please do not block driveways or mailboxes.
  • Please do not park in “no parking” zones, or the city may tow your car.
  • Respect our neighbors.
  • Keep your noise levels low.
  • Most importantly, do not block the flow of traffic to take photos.
  • Along with this, please do not loiter if you are stopping by for a quick photo or after your session ends.
  • Finally, if your balloons get stuck in a tree, please retrieve them. Don’t leave your trash behind!
